WBA to Formally Introduce Upstate Heat at Official Ribbon Cutting at the Anderson Recreation Center June 20th

The locally operated Upstate Heat and WBA Exposure League will host the official ribbon cutting of Anderson, South Carolina's Upstate Heat professional basketball team and to help welcome two recently signed local stars; Westside High graduate Kyreen Sadler and Anderson University standout Trey Britton to the Heat's 2nd season.

Upstate Heat Signs Local Stars to 2012 Roster

Under local ownership and management, the Upstate Heat prepare for their 2nd WBA season May-July by signing two local stars Westside High Grad Kyreen Sadler former Anderson University standout Trey Britton. The Upstate Heats’ 1st home game presented by WLAS Radio, Slam Dunk and the WBA will feature a half time show, contests and exciting giveaways and will take place June 22nd at 1107 N. Murray at 7pm, tickets are available at www.wbaheat.com.

Leroy McMath

Founder

McMath started the WBA in 2004, which restructured in 2015, resumed in 2018, and postponed play due to covid restrictions. Over the years, the WBA has created opportunities for young men to play professionally across the globe, including numerous players in the NBA/systems. "The Sky is the Limit"...
William Slaton

Chief Financial Officer

Slaton is an Ed.S. graduate of the American College of Education and former team owner of the Macon Blaze. Slaton has served as a Director at Herzing University and the Pacific Institute of Technology.
Mike "Stinger" Glenn

Commissioner

Micheal "Stinger" Glenn is an American former professional basketball player drafted #23 by the Chicago Bulls. Glenn was selected to the All-Century team at Southern Illinois University and was also inducted into the Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame.
Lionel Garrett

Basketball Operations/Player Development

Lionel Garrett is a former NBA draft pick contracted by the San Diego Clippers. Garrett has been an International Player, Coach, Harlem Globetrotter Star and has over 25 years of NCAA, CBA, WBA, ABA, and FIBA coaching experience.
