WBA League Alum and rising NBA breakout star Jamario Moon recently signed to the Charlotte Bobcats. Moon is recognized as a NBA veteran who played professional for the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2009-2010 season. Moon has played in over 278 NBA playoff games. During the regular season for the D-Fenders, he averaged 17.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. In a postseason game for Los Angeles, Moon scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds in 39 minutes. Moon's skills were honed during his stint with the World Basketball Association (WBA) Exposure League.

Premier professional league, The World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) has officially announced the launch of its 2012 season. Marking the 10 year anniversary since its inception, the athletic organization has assisted over 400 players in getting paid athletic contracts. The season will commence with the 9th Annual Professional Tryout Camp in partnership with Check Up Athletics and Floyd Mayweather's Lottery Soda and Wing Heaven on April 28th from 2pm to 7pm and 29th from 9 am to 2 pm at the Redan Recreation Center at 1839 Phillips Rd. Lithonia, GA 30058.

After initially scheduling its 2012 Tryout Camp for April 29 in Lawrenceville, Ga., the World Basketball Association Exposure League has moved its camp and extended it to two days. The camp, which is sponsored by Floyd Mayweather's Lottery Soda and Wing Heaven, will now be held April 28-29 at the Redan Recreation Center located at 1839 Phillips Road in Lithonia, Ga. All eight teams that will be playing in the WBA this season will be in attendance as well as scouts and agents from the NBA, Mexico and other international leagues.

For all the endless bus rides to empty gymnasiums, the paydays when the owner couldn’t cut checks, the most trying turn of Jamario Moon’s journey had to be the passes the Harlem Globetrotters tossed toward the rafters. The lobs arched 15 feet in the air, tumbling over the side of the backboard, the shot clock and leaving a leaping Moon reaching higher and higher to deliver the deed.

The current #4 ranked team in the American Basketball Association will be continuing their season after the ABA has concluded on into the WBA's Spring-Summer schedule. The Rome Gladiators' Harvey Thomas (204-F-82, college: Baylor) has been chosen as the WBA Player of the Week for June 10 - June 16 - week number eight. Thomas averaged 20.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals per game, in only 25 minutes of work per game on a very deep-laden Rome squad.

The team won the WBA Championship last year and the new owners, brothers and Peachtree City residents T.J. and Todd Hannon, and coach Ricky Benitez vowed to bring back the title this season.

Prior to taking the helm, Mike served as a consultant to the WBA and worked as a news analyst for the Atlanta Hawks. David Archer was appointed Deputy Commissioner.

Through 20 regular-season games, the Jackson Rage was the driving force behind the new World Basketball Association. On Saturday night, however, the Southern Crescent Lightning took over with the WBA championship game on the line. Both teams scrapped and clawed until the end. But the Lightning made 15 of 18 free throws in the final 1 minute, 22 seconds to claim an 82-79 victory before 5,206 easily the biggest crowd of the season at Jackson State's Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.

The first World Basketball Association regular season is over and the all-star selection are in with Mario Austin of the Jackson Rage getting the top selection as the Player of the Year and Litterial Green of the Southern Crescent Lightning being named the Coach of the Year. The all-star voting was done by the head coaches and owners of each WBA franchise. Also selected was the All – WBA Team, along with Defensive and Rookie players of the year.

Derrick Allen (6’8, 225-F/Ole Miss.) has been selected WBA Player of the Week for his performance in leading the Southern Crescent Lightning to a 2-1week. Allen led the Lightning to two big road wins over league leading Jackson (92-90-OT) and Raleigh 106-104. In three games Allen scored 58 points for a 19.3 points per game average and pulled down 28 rebounds for a 9.3 per game average. He was also impressive at the charity stripe, connecting on 20 of 22 free throws. In the last two games he has made 11 of 11 free throws. In their only setback, Allen finished with his second double - double of the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing a season high 13 rebounds.

Albany- The basketball season is not over for Albany State guard Flem Tucker. The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the year has been selected to play in the Black College all-star game next month in Atlanta. Tucker, who averaged just over 23 points this season for the Golden Rams, is one of only 24 players selected to play in the all-star game that will be played April 24th at Morehouse College.
